You can register to vote on the same day on March 17, 2026.
Election Day: Grace period registration is available on Election Day at specific locations, typically including the County Clerk's Office and designated voting sites.
You can register to vote in-person at the County Clerk’s office at 10 Public Square
Belleville, IL, now through February 18, 2026.You can register online with the IL State Election Board until March 1, 2026. Visit: https://ova.elections.il.gov/
Grace period registration starts February 19, 2026, and runs through March 16, 2026. at these locations:
St. Clair County Clerk’s Office: 10 Public Square, 2nd Floor, Belleville, IL 62220
Early Voting Sites: Various locations throughout the county are designated as early/grace period voting sites. A list can be found on the St. Clair County Clerk's website

The Vote-by-Mail Balloting Process
Fill out online application to vote by mail
Receive Vote-by-Mail ballot packet
Return Vote-by-Mail ballot packet
Accept/return Vote-by-Mail packet
When you get your Vote-by-Mail ballot packet, follow all instructions on how to vote and return the ballot to the County Clerk's office. Your ballot must be postmarked by Election Day and received within 14 days after the election. If you personally deliver to the County Clerk's office, the ballot must be received no later than Election Day.

Early Voting at the St. Clair County Clerk’s Office begins on February 5, 2026.
Early voting at satellite locations begins on March 2, 2026. This includes The Rec Complex of Fairview Heights (9950 Bunkum Rd, Fairview Heights, IL 62208)
March 2-6, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
March 7, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
March 8, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
March 9-13, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
March 14, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
March 15, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
March 16, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Tuesday, March 17 Polls are open from 6 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Registered St. Clair County voters can vote in their precinct on Election Day.

Residents who are not registered to vote may register and cast a ballot on Election Day thanks to same-day registration and voting. Those who wish to register on Election Day must present two qualifying forms of ID.
